New Workers' Compensation Claims Management Process

TAMPA, Fla. (Feb. 3, 2009) -- Effective January 1, the State of Florida's Division of Risk Management has selected OptaComp as the new vendor for managing workers' compensation claims, including claims for USF employees.

OptaComp, the workers' compensation affiliate of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, provides claims management services, including an enhanced reporting process and medical case management for employees who are injured or become ill as a result of work-related incidents.

An OptaComp triage nurse is available 24/7 via a toll free number to assess the medical needs of the employee and make appropriate referrals to ensure prompt and necessary, high-quality medical care.
