Suncoast Music Education Research Symposium

TAMPA, Fla. (Feb. 4, 2009) -- All USF faculty and staff are invited to attend the Suncoast Music Education Research Symposium VII, titled Understanding Musical Expression, Feb. 5 – 7 at the Marshall Student Center in room 3707.


The symposium is the first organized by the newly-formed Center for Music Education Research (CMER) at USF. It is free and open to the public.


The symposium will host an interdisciplinary and international group of presenters, as well as keynote speakers Elaine Chew, Libby Larsen, John Kratus and Christopher Waterman.


During the symposium, CMER will award its first two Outstanding Emerging Researcher Awards to Peter Miksza, University of Colorado, and Daniel Isbell, Ithaca College.
