EAP Offers Free Personal Finance Seminars

TAMPA, Fla. (February 26, 2009) -- The Employee Assistance Program is offering a series of seminars designed to assist faculty and staff in managing personal finances during these difficult economic times.

The series, titled “Turbulent Times,” will include seminars on the following topics:

Financial Strategies
Thursday, March 5 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in SVC 2080
Presented by Sam Martinez and Karin Klassen of Tampa Bay Financial Group (MetLife)
Topics include determining your risk tolerance; identifying proven investment strategies and solid investment vehicles; and six steps to take today.

Retirement Strategies
Thursday, March 12 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in SVC 2080
Presented by Sam Martinez and Karin Klassen of Tampa Bay Financial Group (MetLife)
Topics include determining your retirement goals; calculating the cost of retirement; identifying sources of retirement income; investing for retirement; protecting your retirement portfolio; safeguarding your assets.

Mortgage Strategies
Wednesday, March 18 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in SVC 2080
Presented by M. Loyd Cunningham, Financial Education Specialist, Consumer Credit Counseling Service

Topics include analyzing your position relative to your mortgage; identifying potential options; making preparations; and more.

Strategies for Living on a Reduced Income
Wednesday, March 25 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in SVC 2080
