School of Library & Information Science Hosts Guest Lecturer John Budd

TAMPA, Fla. (Dec. 1 2009) The USF School of Library and Information Science will host its 20th anniversary Alice G. Smith Lectureship on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. in Traditions Hall in the USF Gibbons Alumni Center. The guest speaker will be John M. Budd, professor and associate director of the School of Information Science and Learning Technologies at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Budd’s research areas include operations and economics of scholarly communications, social and epistemological aspects of knowledge transfer, and the politics of higher education and academic libraries. He has published numerous works related to his areas of research including articles and a book titled, The Changing Academic Library: Operations, Cultures, Environments.
