Flexible Spending Account Deadlines

TAMPA, Fla. (Dec. 3, 2009) -- Flexible Spending Account deductions for any pledge amount changes or enrollments made for 2010 will be reflected in your Jan. 15 paycheck.

In addition, if you have a Flexible Spending Account, the IRS permits a grace period of two months and 15 days to file claims for 2010 expenses against your remaining 2009 balance. This grace period will expire on March 15, 2010.

All Flexible Spending Account claims for 2009 must be filed before April 15, 2010 in order to receive payment. Any claims received after that date will not be accepted, and any money remaining from 2009 will be forfeited.

If you have questions about your deductions, please contact the benefits representative for your HR Service Center or call People First at 866-663-4735.
