Campus Forums on Student Success
TAMPA, Fla. (Feb. 22, 2010) – Executive Vice President and Provost Ralph Wilcox and Vice President of Student Affairs Jennifer Meningall encourage all faculty and staff to attend one of four campus forums dedicated to student success.
A university-wide Student Success Task Force of 130+ members is in the final stages of a 6-month project, charged by the provost and vice president to conduct a comprehensive institutional assessment and present prioritized, actionable recommendations for radically transforming student success at USF.
The objective is to empower students to succeed through educationally purposeful activities, initiatives, and accountability measures that will ensure that students are retained and graduated at higher than predicted rates, with higher degrees of satisfaction and minimal financial indebtedness, and are employed or enter graduate, professional, or post-doctoral programs at high rates, having acquired the skills, knowledge and dispositions to succeed in any of those endeavors they pursue.
These forums are designed to share the work of the task force and solicit critical input from faculty and staff across campus. The task force recognizes that a transformation of student success at USF requires a change in our institutional culture. At these forums, Wilcox and Meningall will share their visions of student success and ask for your questions, comments, and concerns.
