Eighth Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium April 1

TAMPA, Fla. (March 9, 2010) -- Student research from numerous disciplines will be showcased during the Eighth Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium and Celebration Thursday, April 1 in the Marshall Student Center Ballroom.

 

Research presentations featuring work in the social sciences, humanities, education, natural sciences, arts, engineering and more will be on public display from 9 a.m. to noon. More than $10,000 in scholarship money will be awarded.

 

The keynote speaker this year will be Mary Newman, research scientist and associate professor at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Newman received her doctoral degree from USF. She has recently been featured as one of the inventors of a promising anti-depressant drug developed here at USF.
