USF Announces New Minimum Wage

New minimum rate takes effect June 25.

 

TAMPA, Fla. (July 2, 2010) -- The University of South Florida announced that it will increase its system-wide minimum wage for all staff (regular positions) to $9.00 per hour. The new minimum rate will be effective June 25, 2010.

 

“This pay adjustment recognizes the vital role our staff play in the university achieving its strategic objectives,” said USF President Judy Genshaft. “Their efforts are critical as we move forward to transform the student experience and enhance student success at USF.”

 

“The Union has advocated an increase in minimum wage for staff for years. We are very pleased that President Genshaft has announced an increase of the minimum wage as a significant step in addressing staff pay,” stated William McClelland, President Local 3342 AFSCME.
