WOW Weekend Preview
Check out the events happening this weekend as part of Week of Welcome, from soccer to ice cream.

TAMPA, Fla. (August 20, 2010) – The last days of summer. It’s a bittersweet time for students. With fall classes just days away, the excitement of summer break is replaced by the nervous anticipation of the school year.
But as students count down the remaining days of summer, USF’s annual Week of Welcome (WOW) is in full swing, providing plenty of events and activities to enjoy those final days.
All weekend long, the USF campus will be abuzz with WOW festivities. With more than 110 events, WOW offers students a wealth of opportunities to immerse themselves in their new environment.

Friday, August 20
USF Women's Soccer Kick-Off game: Cheer on your USF Bulls as they kick-off their 2010 regular soccer season when they host in-state foe University of North Florida. Make sure to stop by the USF Athletics pregame student tailgate for some free food! This event takes place at the USF Soccer Stadium from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Mock Martini: Sip on tasty, signature Mocktails while the ladies of Lambda Psi Delta teach you about safe drinking habits. This event takes place in MSC 2709 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Bulls Nite Out - Viva La Fiesta: It’s a USF tradition you won’t want to miss! Join the Campus Activities Board for an evening of fun – Fiesta Style! Ride a mechanical bull, get your picture taken, try our queso fountain, get a caricature done, enjoy free food, watch dance performances and more! This event takes place in the MSC Atrium and Amphitheatre from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Saturday, August 21
USF Campus Bicycle Tour: New to USF? Get a unique tour of the campus from the seat of a bicycle! Let the USF Bicycle Club help you get acquainted with the roads, bike lanes, and bike parking on campus. If you don’t have you own bicycles, there are bikes available for check-out at the Campus Recreation Center! This event takes place at the Campus Recreation Center from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
RHA's Tiki Tie-Dye: The USF Residence Hall Association (RHA) invites you to an afternoon of music, fun and tie-dye! Early birds get a free shirt to dye or you can bring you own. Learn more about RHA and how they promote a higher standard of living on campus. This event takes place in Holly J from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Burgers & Bands: Take a break with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life and come enjoy an afternoon with friends, good music, and food. Bring your roommates and enjoy free live entertainment! This event takes place in the MSC Amphitheatre from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Sunday, August 22
Brunch with Bulls for Moffitt: Grab a late breakfast with Bulls for Moffitt. See what the organization is all about and learn how you can get involved in the fight against cancer. This event takes place in MSC 2707 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Kickin' it Old School: Join the Green and Gold Guides for a blast from the past! They’re hosting a friendly game of kickball. Meet at the Juniper-Poplar desk or the MSC Atrium at 5:45 p.m. to walk together. This event takes place at the intramural baseball field from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
USF Ladies Night: Ladies are invited to a night of pampering, manicures, pedicures, body art, food, and more with the Crosswinds at USF. This event takes place at the Crosswinds Building on Sycamore Drive from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Sprinkle in some fun with the OTLs: Reconnect with current and past Orientation Team Leaders while enjoying ice cream. You will also have the opportunity to find out how to transform yourself into an OTL for the summer of 2011. This event will take place at Holly J from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
