USF Teams Forming for Heart Walk

Meeting for team captains takes place Sept. 2.

TAMPA, Fla. (Aug. 26, 2010) – Every year, millions of Americans die from the country's leading killer – heart disease. USF faculty, staff and students have the opportunity to come together in support of the fight against this disease by joining one of the USF Heart Walk teams participating in the 2010 American Heart Association Heart Walk.

The Heart Walk will take place on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 at Raymond James Stadium. Faculty and staff are encouraged to join their department's team or form their own by clicking here.

A Heart Walk kickoff event for team captains will be held on the USF Tampa campus on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010 in the Student Services Building, Room 2080 from to 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.

This year's USF Heart Walk Campaign is led by Carol Sands, one of last year's Heart Walk Top Walkers.

“Any effort you can make, big or small, can make a huge difference towards the cause,” said Sands.
