USF community invited to watch parties for U.S. Senate Debate and Florida Gubernatorial Debate.

TAMPA, Fla. (Oct. 11, 2010) – USF/USF Student Government, CNN and the St. Petersburg Times are the joint sponsors for two debates on the USF Tampa campus – the U.S. Senate Debate and the Florida Gubernatorial Debate.

The Senate debate will be held on Sunday, Oct. 24 at 9:00 a.m. The Gubernatorial debate will be held the next day on Monday, Oct. 25 at 7:00 p.m. They will each be one hour long.

Both debates will be held in Theatre 1. Tickets to the actual debates are limited and will be divided among the political candidates and all three sponsors – USF, CNN and the St. Petersburg Times. USF tickets will be distributed directly to USF students through a lottery system being held by Student Government. CNN will be the only media outlet broadcasting live. The St. Petersburg Times will be the only print outlet in Theatre 1 during the debates.

All other media, the USF community, including students, faculty, staff and alumni, in addition to the public are welcome to attend the Student Government-sponsored Debate Watch Parties that will be held in the Marshall Center Ballroom.
