iUSF mobile application expands device coverage to Android and Blackberry and adds new features.
TAMPA, Fla. (Oct. 28, 2010) - USF Information Technology is pleased to announce an upgrade to the iUSF mobile application. The original iUSF mobile application launched in July, 2010 on Apple devices. The new version of the mobile application is also available on Android and Blackberry and includes some new features.
Over the coming months there will be additional features added along with support for other mobile operating systems such as Windows Mobile.
News features include:
MyUSF - This area is accessible through NetID and includes some of the same information that you will find on the new MyUSF portal (Bull Bucks, Student Schedule, Leave Balance). There are many new features planned for this area as both MyUSF and iUSF grow in functionality.
Places - Includes GPS map locations for Dining, Buildings and Parking lots. Look for new features to be added to this area to help you navigate all four campuses.
The old mobile application was reorganized to support future growth in these areas:
Find It – Includes Bull Tracker bus route information, places of interest, campus mapping, course catalog and a link to admissions information.
Directory – USF faculty/staff directory where all users can find staff members across all campuses.
News and Events – Includes information for all campuses, alumni and students.
Athletics – Includes news, schedules and scores for all sports at USF.
Emergency - Includes emergency contact information for each campus, access to dial the Guardian system and USF emergency alerts.
