Free Expert Help in Completing Financial Aid Apps Available Feb. 20
Funding for college can be a major obstacle for many students and their families. To help, USF will host College Goal Sunday, a free, one-day event designed to help Florida high school seniors and their families pay for college by providing free, expert, one-on-one assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online.
The event, hosted by USF, will be held Sunday, Feb. 20 from 2 – 5 p.m. in Marshall Student Center, Room 2308, on the USF Tampa campus. The event is free and open to the public.
A completed FAFSA is required by the U.S. Department of Education and higher education institutions to determine student eligibility for federal student aid such as the Pell grant, work-study aid, and loans. The FAFSA can also determine student eligibility for state and private aid.
All students who attend and complete the FAFSA online at a College Goal Sunday Florida location will become eligible to receive a scholarship incentive of $250.
Students are encouraged to register online at www.collegegoalsundayflorida.org. The website also provides information on participating locations, what students and parents need to bring to College Goal Sunday, and volunteer opportunities.
