Pardon our Dust: SVC Renovations Have Begun
You've probably already noticed some construction activity in and around the Student Services building (SVC). This is just a prelude to the major renovations that will begin this Friday, March 11.
The SVC is a destination for so many – prospective students and their families, current students, as well as faculty and staff. It is regarded as the "hub" of student activities and houses important offices such as the Registrar's Office, Admissions, Financial Aid, the Career Center, Counseling Center, the Advocacy Program, Students With Disabilities Services and Human Resources. It's time for a facelift to bring this building in line with what's going on across the Tampa campus.
The majority of the work will take place in the evening hours between 5 p.m. and midnight, and work that must be completed during normal business hours will be done in a manner that will not inconvenience occupants and visitors to SVC.
Exterior projects include:
The SVC South Plaza will receive new plants & planter beds, pavers and an improved outdoor seating area with umbrellas to create a gathering space for students and staff.
The SVC breezeway will get a splash of color with concrete staining and the "U" Bulls logo, along with new plants.
Banners similar in style to those recently installed around the perimeter and interior of the campus will hang in the breezeway.
Highlights on interior improvements, which will be done in phases, include:
New flooring in first and second floor hallways and lobbies.
Fresh paint and refurbishing of hallway space.
The Career Center will receive new paint, flooring and furniture.
We appreciate your patience during this renovation process and hope that you will enjoy watching this transformation!
