Severe Weather Settles Down

TAMPA, Fla. (March 30, 2011) – Storm activity is leaving the area as we head into Friday, but if you have questions on how Thursday's severe weather impacts your class or exam schedule, read the statement below.

The University of South Florida issued this statement at 12:35 p.m. Thursday:

"Please use precaution today as severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings have been issued through Tampa Bay for the entire day, Thursday, March 31, 2011.  Please watch for information issued by the National Weather Service and follow instructions for remaining indoors, staying off roads and seeking shelter if necessary.

"In light of these extreme weather conditions and related complications which could affect commutes, faculty has been asked to take student absences from class under advisement. They have also been requested to apply appropriate exam make-up policies that they may have in effect.

" Please stay safe, and take appropriate precautions for your personal safety."
