Veterans Find Continuing Support for Success at USF
USF's Office of Veteran Services has a lot of good news to share lately! If you picked up a copy of USA Today on April 11, photos taken during a USF Veterans Success class were on the front page. Here's an excerpt from the story:
"Administrators at the University of South Florida in Tampa have worked hard to create a supportive atmosphere," said Larry Braue, director of veterans services. That has paid off with enrollment by veterans rising 10 to 15 percent annually. Read the full article in USA Today.
In addition to the mention in USA Today, Military Advanced Education journal recently recognized USF as one of the top military-friendly universities in America for the second year in a row.
Finally, Dr. Larry Braue and the Office of Veterans Services have recently been selected to receive a Veterans Reintegration Grant to advance veteran reintegration research in the coming year. Larry is the principal investigator on a $40,000 grant with colleges from James A. Haley VA Hospital and FMHI to research the experiences of veteran students at USF. He is also the co-investigator on a second grant that is looking at the mental health issues of veteran students.
