Changes in Orientation for Summer 2011

Orientation is an opportunity for new students to experience what it’s like to be a USF student, both in and out of the classroom. To ensure the success of this pivotal process, the Office of Undergraduate Studies has made slight modifications to its two-day event.

New students are now required to view the pre-orientation modules (Welcome module and College module) prior to their orientation registration. To facilitate a smoother flow, academic college overviews and course selection will occur on day one and will be centralized in the Marshall Student Center. Evening programming will occur in the residence halls, rather than the Marshall Student Center, to afford participants a truer USF experience of living on campus. For those students not able to attend the two-day orientation, a virtual module has been created as a make-up option.

With these modifications, orientation will better prepare students to start the fall semester well informed and ready to succeed.
