Insomnia Treatment Program Begins June 1

The USF Health Management Group will offer a five-week Insomnia Treatment Program beginning June 1.

The Insomnia Treatment Program will focus on improving sleep hygiene, combating unhelpful thoughts, managing stress, relaxation training, and engaging in sleep-promoting behaviors. Each session is designed to teach psychological skills to help modify behavior that undermines sleep. Additionally, the program will focus on developing cognitive skills to help with getting to sleep, staying asleep, and fixing broken sleep patterns.

The sessions will include an educational component, followed by group discussion that will focus on applying the information learned to one's daily life. The sessions will be conducted in small groups on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 7:30 p.m. (The first session will end at 8 p.m.)

The total cost for the five-week program is $75.00, which is due at the first meeting. The fee includes five sessions, a notebook, a CD, and an insomnia treatment manual that will be used throughout the program.
