USF Cares

It is through the hard work and dedication of our faculty and employees that USF is emerging as a nationally recognized leader in education and research. The university is constantly looking for ways to recognize and reward employees for their efforts. While USF faculty and employees receive many different types of rewards, the message is the same: "Thank you for all you do to make USF what it is today and what it will be in the future."

To recognize the contributions of all employees, the university is working with our constituents to provide performance-based rewards in the upcoming months.

Out-of-Unit Administrative and Staff Employees – eligible employees will be paid a one-time, performance-based lump-sum bonus on July 29, 2011. Eligible employees will have been hired in an established position prior to January 3, 2011, be continuously employed on July 29, and have a performance rating of "Achieves" or better as of June 15, 2011. Staff Employees (AFSCME) - On Wednesday, June 29th, the University and AFSCME reached a tentative agreement, which included one-time, lump sum merit bonuses for in-unit staff employees of up to 3.0 percent. If this agreement is ratified by the in-unit Staff and the USF Board of Trustees, details regarding eligibility, bonus amounts and the pay date of the bonus will be communicated.

Faculty (UFF) – On August 7, 2011, eligible employees will receive base salary adjustments based on performance from a 2.0 percent salary pool. In addition, a one-time, lump-sum performance bonus has been proposed, but is in the process of being negotiated.

Graduate Assistants (GAU) – We are currently in negotiations with the GAU and will communicate the results of the negotiations when an agreement has been reached.

Again, thank you to all faculty and employees for your contributions!
