Update: Web Rebranding Initiative
As previously reported, Information Technology and University Communications and Marketing are partnering to rebrand all university websites, a project that will include the implementation of branded web templates and a content management system.
The project charter was presented during the project kickoff meeting in July and approved by vice presidents Michael Pearce and Michael Hoad.
In addition, Kathleen Long and Stephanie Harff presented information about the initiative to university senior leadership at the Provost's retreat in early August, so all deans and vice presidents are aware of the details of the initiative. The project team, comprised of professionals from IT and UCM, had its first meeting July 21 and will meet weekly through the end of this year. The team will employ standard project management processes, beginning with audience identification and requirements gathering.
The next step of the process will include convening an advisory committee comprised of communications and web professionals from throughout the university community. The committee, which will have its first meeting in September, will have the opportunity to review and weigh in on the requirements list and make recommendations regarding template development.
In the meantime, IT and UCM have also worked together to provide an interim solution for units who require immediate assistance in the development of new or evolving websites. For more information about the interim solution, click here.
