Special Report: Week of Welcome 2011

Nearly 150 events pack this year’s Week of Welcome celebrations, beginning Wednesday.

TAMPA, Fla. (Aug. 16, 2011) – Free food. Dance, movies, games. Pure fun.

The University of South Florida’s Week of Welcome celebrations, aimed at engaging students in a host of activities before the start of classes, kicks off Wednesday with a rally at the Marshall Student Center at 4 p.m.

The events include campus tours, live music, pool parties, multicultural exhibitions and scavenger hunts. And, did we mention food?

Also on Wednesday, Move-In Day will be in full swing, with about 2,500 first year students set to move into their new home in the campus residence halls. They will join about 2,700 returning and transfer students.

Remember, you’ll find all our coverage here, but you can join in, too. Send in your photos from events you attend, and we’ll include them in our Bulls In Focus photo galleries.
