TAMPA, Fla. (Aug. 17, 2011) – Despite the University of South Florida’s young age, there is no lack of tradition on campus. Every fall and spring, USF welcomes new and returning students with Week of Welcome, an event that has been growing since 2006.

Jessy Rosenberg, the associate director for New Student Connections, said that Week of Welcome has grown from a few BBQ and ice cream social events to encompass nearly 150 including Round Up and Bulls Nite Out that hundreds of students attend and look forward to each year.

“I think these events show to our students that sense of pride and that [USF] is their home,” Rosenberg said. “We have 10,000 new students come in every year, most in the fall, and then those students come back year after year, making Week of Welcome bigger and bigger.”
