USF Celebrates its 15th Homecoming
Weeklong celebration begins Monday, continues through the weekend.

TAMPA, Fla. (Oct. 17, 2011) —The University of South Florida celebrates its 15th homecoming with Homecoming Superbull XV, offering fun times and great memories for students, alumni and Tampa Bay residents alike. Kicking off today, weeklong campus festivities will lead up to the family-friendly carnival on Thursday, Oct. 20, and the Running of the Bulls Night Parade and After Party on Friday, Oct. 21, before the USF Bulls take on the Cincinnati Bearcats on the football field on Saturday, Oct. 22.
The community is invited to join students on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 4 p.m. until midnight in the Meadows (the corner of 50th Street and USF Holly Drive) for the family-friendly Homecoming Carnival that features music and dance performances by students and local groups in addition to rides and games.
A highlight of USF’s homecoming calendar, Friday’s Running of the Bulls Night Parade has 80 entrants, including USF’s Herd of Thunder marching band and 55 floats, with participation from student organizations, university departments and community businesses. This year’s parade Grand Marshall is Lee Roy Selmon, Jr. The campus parade will start at 7 p.m. at USF Alumni Drive and Leroy Collins Blvd. continue to USF Maple Drive, before ending on USF Holly Drive.
The Parade After Party will also be held in the Meadows, running from 8 p.m. to midnight. Student and community attendees will enjoy carnival rides and the evening’s professional entertainment lineup, which includes hip hop artists The Cool Kids, Hoodie Allen, Chiddy Bang, and Travis Porter (this lineup is not recommended for minors).
Kick-off for the Superbull XV football game against Cincinnati is at 12 p.m. at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. Tickets can be purchased by the public through Ticketmaster directly or via www.gousfbulls.com.
