Celebrating the Pink Warriors in Our Lives
Each Friday during the month of October, a sea of pink could be seen as employees from across Administrative Services gathered to celebrate the Pink Warriors in their lives and to create awareness about the importance of breast cancer screenings. Employees from VP Sandy Lovins' Office, Emergency Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Facilities Planning & Construction, Human Resources, Physical Plant and University Police celebrated "Pink Fridays" by wearing pink – socks, pins, shirts, wristbands, scarves, and even pink wigs –
to show their support.
The events united a diverse group of USF employees in support of a cause that touches all of us at some time in our lives. We all have someone dear to us - a mother, aunt, sister, daughter, cousin, or friend – that has courageously faced or will face the challenges of breast cancer.
Thanks to improvements in treatment and early detection, millions of women are surviving breast cancer today. We can all do our part by supporting our Pink Warriors and continuing to spread awareness about the importance of breast cancer screenings.
