USF Pre-College Invites High School Students to Experience University Life



TAMPA, Fla. (April 13, 2012) – The University of South Florida’s University College is kicking off a Pre-College initiative for motivated high school and home school students. Thirteen diverse programs comprise Pre-College with commuter and residential options. In addition to the college learning experience, the program offers the guidance and oversight provided by traditional summer programs.
 
High school students will pursue academic interests, discover career opportunities, and engage with college professors all while taking in the excitement of university life. Students may enroll in one or more of the summer-run programs, selecting from a broad range of academic disciplines:

STEM Academy (Diabetes Research) – USF Office for Undergraduate Research

Architecture – USF School of Architecture and Urban Design 

Global Sustainability – USF School of Global Sustainability 

Mechanical Engineering – USF College of Engineering 

Computer Science – USF College of Engineering

Biomedical Engineering – USF College of Engineering

American Sign Language – USF College of Behavioral & Community Sciences 

Art and Design – USF School of Art & Art History 

Music – USF School of Music 

Online Music – USF School of Music

Marine Science – USF College of Marine Science 

Film Studies – USF College of Arts and Sciences 

STEM Mathematics – USF College of Arts and Sciences

Space is restricted and a special pricing incentive is available through April. There is also an additional 10 percent discount off the program price for USF alumni, faculty and staff.
