TAMPA, Fla. (March 22, 2012) – Win or lose, the USF men’s basketball team made history during these last few weeks.

Greeted by more than 100 students, members of the basketball team shared their excitement at a pep rally Wednesday.

USF’s qualification into the NCAA Tournament was a first in 20 years. Once in the tournament, the team progressed as far as it ever had – into the third round of the big dance. Forward Ron Anderson, Jr credits that success to everyone involved.

“It really starts with the coaches and the coaching staff, you really got to credit a lot of the success to them too,” he said.

Coach Stan Heath hopes that the recent success will capture Tampa Bay’s attention – and keep their sights on what’s next for the team.

“The future is extremely bright,” he said.
