Updates to the USF Brand Site

University Communications and Marketing recently added some new resources to the USF Brand Site to assist you in creating branded communications. These additions include the following:

Design Language Deck

The USF Design Language Deck provides a framework to help university communicators as they design communications, tell stories, coordinate events and create physical spaces. The printed version is currently in production. However, an electronic version is available for immediate download as a PDF document.

The USF Design Language Deck identifies three main categories: Personality, Strategy, and Design.

Within each category, attributes are identified along with definitions and real examples of how each attribute can be put into place effectively.

Design Templates

University Communications and Marketing now offers a series of branded templates for your convenience, which include presentation materials, fliers, postcards, ads and more.

The downloadable files are supplied in Adobe InDesign CS5.5. An additional IDML file that can be opened in CS5 and a folder of all the linked graphics complete each Zip file.

A Note about Fonts:
The fonts used in the attached templates are: Univers 49 Light Ultra Condensed; Univers 45 Light; Univers 47 Light Condensed Oblique; Univers 57 Condensed; Univers 67 Bold Condensed and ITC Garamond Bold. The font that matches USF's official logo graphic is Goudy Oldstyle. Please note that if your system doesn't contain these fonts, it will insert substitutes.

Fonts are protected under intellectual property law and are subject to the same legal usage restrictions as other software. It is illegal to for UCM to share or copy fonts beyond what our office license agreement allows. If you would like to obtain licensed copies of these or other fonts, you may purchase them for your office in the same manner as software. A typical license covers five desktops per purchase. Please review the license details on each font that you purchase. If you have questions about sources, email ucm@usf.edu or call 813-974-4014.
