"Pinning USF" Contest Guidelines
Users interested in participating in the university’s first-ever Pinterest contest can find complete guidelines here.
TAMPA, Fla. (July 13, 2012) – To celebrate the launch of the USF Pinterest page, the university is hosting its first-ever Pinterest contest.
Users are encouraged to create their own USF-themed boards for the chance to win merchandise from the USF Bookstore, as well as the opportunity to become a contributing pinner for the official USF Pinterest page. You can pin whatever you like, as long as it demonstrates Bull Pride. Pins could include campus scenes, apparel, décor, recipes, and anything else USF-related!
All contest participants will earn the chance to be selected as a contributing pinner on a USF Community board to be created on the official USF Pinterest page.
The first-place winner will receive $100 worth of merchandise from the USF Bookstore. The first place board will also be featured on the USF Pinterest page, which requires the creator to make USF a contributor to the board, in order for it to display on the USF Pinterest page. USF reserves the right to request that the name and description of the board be edited to include information about the contest.
Second and third place winners will also receive merchandise from the USF Bookstore, worth $50 and $25 respectively. Winning boards may also be featured on the USF website, as well as official USF social media sites.
The contest is open to any fan of the university who has a personal Pinterest account, excluding employees of the USF Office of Communications and Marketing. Participants must be a person – businesses and organizations with Pinterest profiles may not participate. There is no entry fee.
Each participant must perform the following tasks to be considered eligible for the prizes:
1. Follow the University of South Florida on Pinterest at http://www.pinterest.com/usflife.
2. Create a USF-themed board that demonstrates the users’ Bull Pride.
3. Pin a minimum of 25 USF-related pins, including 5 repins from the official USF Pinterest page. However, boards must contain some original content not already pinned to the USF Pinterest page. Boards that only include repins from the USF Pinterest page and no original content will be disqualified.
4. Send your name, phone number, affiliation with USF and a link to your USF board to: email@example.com.
Contest entries will be accepted beginning July 23, 2012. All entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. EST on August 5, 2012.
Once the contest deadline has passed, all entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges within the USF Office of Communications and Marketing. The judging panel will include the social media coordinator, the communications and marketing officer, and the associate director of marketing. Boards will be judged on creativity, individuality, and demonstration of USF spirit.
The University of South Florida will announce the winners on the USF homepage on August 8, 2012. Winners will be notified via phone or email.
