TAMPA, Fla. (July 31, 2012) – Though students’ graduation invitations have already been sent to loved ones through the mail, the University of South Florida is offering up more ways for students to make the big announcement via social media.
USF students and their families are encouraged to share their excitement online as they prepare for the commencement ceremonies this weekend. From alumni tweeting words of advice, to graduates pinning pictures of their celebration, Bulls can connect with their university and each other!
Here’s a look at how USF is using social media to celebrate commencement weekend:
On Twitter: The official hashtag for commencement is #USFgrad. Use it whenever you're tweeting about graduation! Want to be mentioned by the official USF Twitter account? Tweet your name, major, and post-graduate career or education plans to @USFNEWS.
On Foursquare: Foursquare has created an official college graduation badge. You can earn the Hats Off badge by checking into the USF Sun Dome before the commencement ceremony. Once you've checked in, post a picture from inside the Sun Dome. Be sure to turn off your mobile devices once the ceremony begins.
On Facebook: Let your Facebook friends know that you'll be walking across that stage this summer when you join our Commencement Facebook event page. We also encourage you to post pictures and comments on the event wall.
