Fire Safety Training Wrap-up

We want to thank everyone who participated in Environmental Health & Safety’s (EH&S) Fire extinguisher training on Wednesday, October 10. The training was held in conjunction with National Fire Prevention Week (October 8 – 12). In addition to providing fire safety tips to the University community, representatives from EH&S, in conjunction with the Office of the State Fire Marshal, conducted hands-on training to 123 participants in the proper use of a fire extinguisher. This year’s participation was double that in 2011.

Participants in this year’s training learned techniques that have the potential to save a life or prevent property damage, both at USF and in their homes. They also had the opportunity to register to win an Apple iPad following training. The lucky recipient of the iPad was USF student, Solon Harden, pictured here with the EH&S training team.
