Floating Holidays for 2008
President Genshaft has designated Wednesday, Dec. 24 and Friday, Dec. 26 to be the 2008 floating holidays. While most offices will close, there will be exceptions due to the nature of the work performed. These decisions will be made by the vice presidents and deans. Marshall Center Plans for Summer 2008 Opening
The new Marshall Student Center is scheduled to open in August, and will include 231,500 square feet of space, including a 550-seat food court, a 1,200-seat ballroom, a 700-seat auditorium, a 400-seat multipurpose space, 30 event and function spaces, expanded student organization and study space, a formal restaurant, a sports grille, an enhanced outdoor plaza and more. Construction is well underway, with the final steel beam placed in December. The beam (left) was signed by more than 1,000 members of the university community. For more information, click here.



King Celebration Features Maya Angelou January 14
As part of USF's celebration of the life of Martin Luther King, Jr., USF is hosting "An Evening with Dr. Maya Angelou" Monday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. at the USF Sun Dome. Admission to this University Lecture Series event is free for students, $5 for USF staff and faculty, and $10 for the general public. For more information, click here.

USF Community Breakfast January 15 
The USF A&P Council is Hosting the 11th Annual USF Community Breakfast Tuesday, Jan. 15 from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. in the Marshall Center Ballroom, featuring USF President Judy Genshaft and USF Provost Ralph Wilcox. Visual & Performing Arts Hosts 12th Annual Franz Mantini Scholarship Concert
The USF College of Visual & Performing Arts will host the 12th Annual Franz Mantini Scholarship Concert Saturday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $10 for students, faculty, staff and senior citizens and $25 for general admission. For more information, click here.

Faculty & Staff Appreciation Event March 8
The next Faculty & Staff Appreciation Event, hosted by President Genshaft, will be held Saturday, Mar. 8 in conjunction with the USF vs. Notre Dame men's basketball game. Ticket information and other details will be released soon.

Faculty & Staff Softball Event April 5
Save the date! The 25th Annual USF Faculty & Staff Softball Event and Taste of "Bulls Country" will be held Saturday, Apr. 5. Look for more information in future editions of the USF E-Bulletin.
