Resources During Finals Week
By Jenna Withrow
TAMPA, Fla. (December 6, 2012) – The University of South Florida Marshall Student Center (MSC) and Library are turning on the night lights to help students prepare for final exams. In the week leading up to final exams and throughout the exam week, several USF departments will host events to promote student success. Here’s a quick round up of the resources available to help students ace those tests.
Final Review Sessions
Throughout the week, USF professors will be hosting final review sessions for several popular classes. These review sessions, which will be held in the MSC and Juniper-Poplar Hall, are open to any USF students enrolled in the course. For a complete schedule of available review sessions, visit the MSC website.
Marshall Study Center
Beginning December 5, the Marshall Student Center will transform into the Marshall Study Center. The hub for student life at USF will keep its doors open until 3:00 a.m. every night through December 13 to provide a space for students who need to hold late night study sessions. To help fuel their all-nighters, the MSC teamed up with USF Dining Services, Aramark, and Student Government to provide free food to studying students.
Students looking to relieve some stress can stop by the Wellness Center in MSC 3707 to receive a free massage on December 10 and 11. Staff from the Campus Recreation Center will host several group exercise sessions for students who need to take a break from studying.
From December 3-12, the USF Library will be open 24 hours for students. Tutoring and Learning Services will also featured extended hours for students who need one-on-one assistance. Students can set up a session with a science or math tutor in the Science, Math, and Research Technology (SMART) Lab. For students writing final papers, the Writing Center offers individual sessions during which a consultant will review their paper.
