University Police Wins Awards

This month, the University of South Florida Police Department was recognized for its ongoing efforts in on-campus traffic education and enforcement.

At the annual Florida Law Enforcement Challenge Awards, USFPD won first place in the university category of the law enforcement challenge and second place among all agencies with 25-40 officers in the DUI challenge. The department was judged on education efforts and enforcement programs in DUI, speed, and occupant protection, with special emphasis on effectiveness such as reduced crashes and increased DUI arrests.

USFPD is the only campus police department in Florida to place among the top three of the challenge since 2009. For more information on USFPD, visit their website.
