Junior ROTC Drill Teams Compete at USF Saturday

TAMPA, Fla. (March 7, 2008) – University of South Florida’s ROTC Detachment 158 will host this year’s state-wide High School Junior ROTC Drill Competition March 8 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the USF Soccer Stadium. Over 600 high school students are expected to attend the all-day event.

“Our detachment volunteered to take on this enormous project,” said Air Force ROTC Cadet Major Sara Rivera. “We’re very excited about it and we’re looking forward to serving as role models to show these younger students what it’s like to continue serving at the college level.” Rivera was a member of a high school drill team.

The high school team that emerges as the winner will go on to compete on the national level.
