USF Partners with Orbitz for Business as University Travel Provider

Orbitz for Business will be the required means to make business travel arrangements for USF System employees.

After more than a year of collaboration with Faculty and Staff to select a standard travel service that would help achieve greater customer service and efficiency, a selection committee has unanimously recommended Orbitz for Business travel service.

In engaging Orbitz for Business, USF now has a one of the largest travel providers and one of the most familiar online booking tools in the world as its travel partner. Orbitz for Business also has experience in providing this service to prestigious higher education institutions such as Yale University and Northwestern University. Many USF employees already use Orbitz to book professional travel and know that its services are easy to use.

In coming weeks, the university will launch the test phase of this new program with units who have volunteered and include the Office of the President, Academic Affairs Administration, General Counsel and Government Relations as well as administrative units of USF Health and USF World. This pilot project will allow for further refinement of USF’s Orbitz for Business portal before the use by the entire campus community becomes effective in April. Nick Setteducato, AVP for Academic Affairs Financial Management, will lead the implementation effort.

Additionally, the university will establish two steering committees comprised of both staff who are handling the technical implementation of the service as well as faculty and other advisors. Once fully implemented, Orbitz for Business will allow USF to integrate travel authorizations, reservations and reconciliation into a seamless process.

USF employees can expect further communications in the coming weeks and months as the university moves toward full implementation, including training sessions on how to use this new service. Upon full implementation, Orbitz for Business will be the required means to make business travel arrangements for USF System employees.
