USF to Host Dr. Kristen Iversen – September 26 at 7 p.m.

Author of Full Body Burden, the 2014-15 Common Reading Experience Book Selection

Kristen Iversen, Ph.D., author of Full Body Burden: Growing Up in the Nuclear Shadow of Rocky Flats, will be speaking at the University of South Florida at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept., 26, 2014 at the Marshall Student Center. Her book is the university’s Common Reading Experience (CRE) selection for the 2014-15 academic year. With support from Student Government, the Office of Student Success, and the Division of Student Affairs, the Common Reading Experience program is bringing Dr. Iversen to spend a day at USF to interact with students, faculty and the university community. 

In her lecture, Iversen will present highlights from her book about living in a small town near a secret nuclear weapons plant and discuss the global impact of the production of nuclear weapons in Colorado.

Following the lecture, there will be a question and answer segment as well as a book signing. This free event is open to USF students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the general public.
