USF Shares MacDill Community Pride

University of South Florida System President Judy Genshaft shared the connection between USF and MacDill AFB in this video message.

TAMPA, Fla. (April 20, 2015) - In a community wide effort, MacDill Air Force Base has launched a storytelling campaign for citizens from Tampa Bay and beyond to reflect on what the longstanding Air Force Base means to them.

University of South Florida System President Judy Genshaft shared the connection between USF and MacDill AFB, highlighting the fact that USF is ranked by Military Times as the nation’s 5th most veteran friendly university and many of USF’s first students were military veterans utilizing the GI Bill. As part of the “My MacDill Community Pride Campaign," politicians and supporters filmed messages to thank MacDill AFB for serving such a special role in the growth of the Tampa community and reflected on why the 75th anniversary of MacDill Air Force Base is reason for celebration.

The campaign kicked-off on April 16th and MacDill AFB would like to encourage everyone to share their connection to MacDill
 and challenge their friends and families to post their personal photos, stories or videos at www.MyMacDill.com.
