USF Night at the Lightning
The University of South Florida partnered with the Tampa Bay Lightning for the first USF Night at Amalie Arena.
TAMPA, Fla. (Feb. 16, 2016) – On Friday, Feb.12 the Bulls and the Bolts came together for the first USF Night with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Before the puck dropped, fans picked up their USF/Lightning t-shirts from the welcome tent on Thunder Alley and headed to an exclusive pre-game party with food, drink and a beautiful view of the sun setting against the Tampa skyline.
Once inside the Amalie Arena, the evening
unfolded with key events throughout the game, celebrating the USF and Tampa Bay Lightning partnership. The Bolts Social Media Captains were USF’s Dr. Charles
Lockwood, Dean and VP of the Morsani College of Medicine and Dr. Robert Bishop,
Dean of the College of Engineering.
After fist bumping the players as they came out of the tunnel and watching warm-ups the Social Captains took to Twitter and documented the night’s match-up between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Nashville Predators.
The evening was a huge success right down to Tampa Bay’s dramatic game tying goal late in the third period followed by a quick goal 1 minute and 4 seconds into overtime giving the Lightning a 4-3 victory over the Nashville Predators.
