USF Homecoming Celebration Set for Oct. 13-18

TAMPA, Fla. (Updated Oct. 6, 2008) USF’s Homecoming celebration, SuperBull XII, will begin on Monday, Oct. 13 and continue throughout the week with activities for students, faculty and staff, and alumni. The week will culminate on Sat. Oct. 18th with the match-up between the USF Bulls and Syracuse University at Raymond James Stadium. Game kickoff is at noon.

Homecoming kick-off ceremonies including speeches by USF dignitaries will take place at noon at the Marshall Student Center on Oct. 13. These ceremonies will be preceded by the annual Charit-a-Bull student team competition set for the Marshall Center ballroom.

Highlights of the week-long celebration include: a carnival on Tuesday, Oct. 14; Homecoming Ball on Wednesday, Oct. 15; the Stampede Comedy Show on Thursday, Oct. 16; and the Running with the Bulls Night Parade and post-parade party on Friday, Oct. 17.

A student tailgate party will begin outside Raymond James Stadium three hours before game time. The USF Alumni Association’s Bull Roast tailgate party, which will take place in the fenced lot outside gates A and B, also will begin three hours before game time.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to show their Bull’s pride by wearing green and gold throughout the week and by participating in the annual office decorating contest. Offices can register for the contest at by clicking on the Faculty/Staff button. Homecoming posters are available by e-mailing

Departments or colleges planning on organizing a Homecoming Parade Watch Party should e-mail Regina Hyatt at by Sept. 29 with their space requests. Please include the name of the sponsoring department/college and the exact location of the party. Note that the parade route has changed from previous years. This year it will begin at the corner of Leroy Collins Blvd. and Alumni Dr. and process down Alumni Dr. turning left on Maple Dr. to Holly Dr. The parade will end at the Meadow on Holly Dr.
