USF Research Funding Tops $360 Million
In her Fall 2008 Address, President Genshaft announced that research funding for the 2007-2008 fiscal year rose by 17 percent over last year's figure, to top out at $360,169,573, a more than $50 million increase over the previous fiscal year. USF Names New Senior VP for Business and Finance

USF Announces Name of Newly Formed College
USF is pleased to announce the formation of the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences. The new college took shape in July as part of the university's structural realignment of academic units to better reflect USF's commitment to pursuing strategic priorities while strengthening the university's academic organization for the future. Head of U.S. Central Command Addresses ROTC Students
LTG Martin Dempsey, Acting Commander, U.S. Central Command addressed USF's ROTC students on "Service to the Nation," Thursday, Sept. 11. Office of Research & Innovation Launches TRAIN Initiative
The USF Office of Research & Innovation has launched an exciting new initiative at USF: The Research Administration Improvement Network (TRAIN). Theatre and Dance Presents Hair
The USF School of Theatre & Dance will present "Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical," Oct. 2 through 4 and Oct. 8 through 11 at 8 p.m., and Oct. 5 and 12 at 3 p.m. in Theatre I on the USF Tampa campus. Prices for general admission are $15 in advance and $18 for day-of show, and $10 in advance and $12 for day-of-show for students and seniors. Tickets may be purchased through the College of Visual & Performing Arts box office by calling 813-974-2323.

Homecoming October 13-18
USF's Homecoming celebration, SuperBull XII, will begin on Monday, Oct. 13 and continue throughout the week with activities for students, faculty and staff, and alumni. The week will culminate on Sat., Oct. 18 with the match-up between the USF Bulls and Syracuse University at Raymond James Stadium. For more information, click here.

College of Education Faculty Receive $1.29 Million Award
George Batsche and Michael Curtis, professors in the Psychological and Social Foundations Department and the Institute for School Reform in the USF College of Education, have been awarded over $1.29 million to continue their "Florida Problem-Solving/Response to Intervention" statewide project.
