Student Wins Scooter for Eating on Campus

TAMPA, Fla. (Nov. 18, 2008) – Eating at the University of South Florida can lead to winning prizes. One lucky student in particular will take home a 150cc scooter, Thursday, Nov. 20 at a special lunch to be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. USF Dining Services will present Kevin Stiner, the national winner of the JAM Rewards Contest, with the scooter and present prizes to other students in front of over 1,000 students who are expected to be in attendence in the Marshall Student Center Food Court.

JAM is USF Dining Services loyalty program that provides students with rewards for eating on campus. Everything from buying a meal plan to spending $5 on snacks between classes can help students score a reward.

The celebration includes music and the JAM monkey will present Stiner with his scooter, worth just under $3,800. Students will be able to sign up for JAM rewards to win other prizes and play the JAM football toss for instant prizes. The Food Court at Marshall Student Center has the first-ever Beef O’Brady’s restaurant on a college-campus. The food court also offers selections such as Sbarro Pizza, Chick-fil-A, and Bleecker St., a New York-style bakery cafe.
